CRIMINAL INTELLIGENCE ANALYSIS TRAINING
The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) is pleased to host The Alpha Group’s Criminal Intelligence
Analysis Training course from September 17 through September 21, 2007. The class will be held at the CSPD
Training Academy located at 725 N Murray Bl, Colorado Springs, CO. Criminal Intelligence Analysis Training is
recommended for criminal investigators, crime and intelligence analysts, as well as federal, state, municipal, and
military intelligence officers and analysts.
The class will be taught by Warren Sweeney, who began his career in law enforcement in 1968 with the Royal
Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). Since that time he has worked with such agencies as the RCMP Security
Service in the area of Counter-Espionage and the Security Service International Terrorism Unit as an investigator
of Middle East terrorist organizations. He has also worked the Terrorism Desk at the National Criminal Intelligence
Branch of the RCMP. In 1990, Sweeney became the Intelligence Analysis Coordinator for the RCMP Canadian
Police College, where he became an internationally recognized authority in the fields of terrorism and organized
crime at the local and national level. Sweeney is a certified Crime and Intelligence Analyst and the former Director
of Training, Education and Career Development for the International Association of Intelligence Analysts, Inc.

This course is designed to enable the investigator and/or analyst to more efficiently organize and analyze crime
data, identify conspiratorial activities, establish relationships between people and organizations, and effectively
present their findings. In this class you will learn how to prepare link analyses, time/event analyses, and economic
analyses, all of which have proven themselves effective in homicide and robbery investigations, as well as in
investigations involving street gangs, narcotics, economic crime, organized crime, and terrorism.
Tuition for the course is $525 and includes the 5-day (36 hours) of instruction and all related course materials.
The course is geared to fulfill the requirement of the Certified Crime and Intelligence Analysis Program and may
